I went to my very first Huskers game.
Friday afternoon, I was offered free tickets to the game. Having never been to one before (and being a lover of free stuff), I snapped those up... And then spent the rest of the night trying to find someone to go with me. Thankfully, I found someone from my church small group who was the PERFECT person to take on this adventure!
And oh, was it an adventure.
I get it now. I get why everyone is Husker-crazy in Nebraska. I'll never be a rabid fan, but that atmosphere was electric.
The tunnel walk. The balloon release. The craziness everytime SDSU got to a third down. The overwhelming prevalence of the color red. The waving of hands in the air after every touchdown (and we got a LOT of them). The wave that rippled through the whole stadium, starting quickly before a section halfway through put it in slow motion. The sun (oh, the sun, I am so sunburnt!).
That was pretty much the highlight of my weekend. I DID successfully finish an AWESOME Pinterest project (that I'm not sharing on the blog yet, maybe in a few months), which was exciting, because let's face it, rarely do crafty things turn out the way I imagine.
