The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly [GBU] Linkup: Week

Ack. Monday. HOWEVER, this is the Monday that signals the last week of third quarter, the last Monday before spring break, and the last Monday before Kate comes, so really, it's not all that bad!

It's also MARCH FOURTH, which was always my mom's favorite day of the year, because it's the only day of the year that's a command. Get it? My mom always made cake or something, and we had to march around the dining room table four times before we could eat it. I'm not sure how I'll celebrate it today... Make four laps around my half-wall before I eat dinner? :)

As always, here's the good, bad, and ugly of my weekend:

The Good: This weekend, I got to watch a ton of basketball, which I love. Okay, it was middle school basketball, but I still had a blast. My school's annual basketball tournament fundraiser was this weekend, and I worked four hour-long shifts doing the score clock at one of the gyms we were using, which means not only did I get to experience a ton of basketball but I ALSO get to wear jeans every Friday for the rest of the school year!

The Bad: The sore of one of the games I worked was 69-9, two teams from Lincoln. It was painful and excruciating and awful. The team that won was FANTASTIC, and they weren't even going full-blast. The other team was just that bad. And the coach of the other team was stressing me out with his anger towards the refs (Sidenote: If you lose by 60 points, it is NOT because of the referees), and overall it was just painful for everyone in the gym. The time could NOT run down fast enough.

halftime score.

The Ugly: Two of my students found my (thankfully private) Instagram account and requested to follow me. I assumed one was a blogger, so I said ok before realizing that no, it's a seventh grader from my homeroom. I then had to google in a panic how to block people and then enact the block ASAP. It was stressful.

Anyway, that was my weekend, all good, bad, and ugly of it. Want to join up? Write a post, link up below, and see what was good, bad, and ugly in other people's weekends!

  2. Oh god. I can't imagine finding your students following you on Instagram. I have friends from grade school that are friends with our old teachers on Facebook now and I STILL think that's weird.

  3. I've never thought of that March 4th thing - that's pretty clever!

I know a lot of people that like May the 4th... Star Wars Day! Get it? May the 4th.. May the force be with you! Ha!

Glad you got the Instagram thing all situated! I think it's awkward when really random co-workers try to follow me.. I can't imagine how a teacher would feel about students! Yikes..
