StyleScope and Sassypants.

Last week, Stephanie shared about a quiz she took that gave her her StyleScope from Home Goods (not a sponsored post, I just thought this was cool and worth trying). Basically, you look at a set of photos and choose the five that "speak" to you.

Then, they give you your primary style type and a secondary type, as well.

Unlike Stephanie, I was NOT Vegas Baby and New Country, but if you've been around my blog for awhile or you know me at all, that should not be surprising to you.

Instead, I found out that my StyleScope was Sassy with a touch of Urban Funk. And I think that pretty much kind of describes my ideal style.

I was pretty much a fan of how that turned out, seeing as how I've been described by many a people as "sassy." One time was in college during a reading methods class where someone had to act out the part of a sassy old lady. I was unanimously chosen. Sassy. If I ever write a book about my mediocre life (probably not happening), I would name is Sassypants, a la Tina Fey.

So what does Sassy look like? Me. Or at least how I'd like to be.

The problem is that it doesn't necessarily describe my CURRENT style, but it does describe some accents I have. My apartment is full of a lot of neutrals with a few pops of color, like this lovely green owl and my fantastic orange trunk, but as a whole, it doesn't yet completely scream Sassypants.

Most of my decor has been acquired from garage sales (like the best church garage sale EVER in the western suburbs of Chicago, where I bought three huge wall prints for under three dollars), and the rest is mostly from Ikea. I do, however, incorporate color into my home much more than in my wardrobe (working on it!), like with my catch-all bowl and candles and the barstools I stole from my mom.

On the plus side, as I slowly continue to build my adult home, I know what to look for! I love that the quiz was actually pretty accurate, at least for my personality and how I'd like my home to look eventually down the road. Interested? You should click here to take the quiz. And again, not a sponsored post. I just thought this was awesome.

And the five pictures that spoke to me? The zebra print (unsurprising if you know me), red lips, colored dots (a la blog design), hot pink pumps, and the cityscape.

Did you do the StyleScope? What was your style?

  1. Apparently I'm Farm House Glam (is that a thing?) and a touch Classic. This is really cool! I'm awful at decorating so it's nice to have direction!

  2. Sassy! I love it! I can see the sassy in the things you have for sure. Those bar stools are awesome. I really like having a direction to go in now, as far as decorating. It makes it easier when I'm thinking if something matches everything I already own.
